Description:Upgraded a working *1.4 system to *1.8
Users started to complain that each morning their MWI lights were out.
These are all Aastra 480i phones with 1.4.3 firmware.
The lights come on as soon as I do an Asterisk reload.
The problem does not affect Aastra 57i's or Polycom phones etc...
Its particulary bad because by default Aastra phones reboot automatically every day at 3AM.
So every morning the users complain or an Asterisk reload has to be scheduled after 3 AM.

can you provide a tcpdump of the sip trafic for when the phone register after the reboot
and a copy of the sip.conf and the config for the phone

Here is the sip show debug peer 1004 for peer 1004 (Aastra 480i) and sip.conf for 1004.

According to the trace.
When the phone registers Asterisk does not send back a sms SIP notify to light the mwi.
Asterisk only sends this during the reload.
I don't know why Asterisk waits until a reload if that's intended behavior etc...?

This gets sent by Asterisk after the reload.

repeat, can you provide a tcpdump of the sip trafic for when phone register after it has reboot
can you make a pcap file instead of a sip show debug

The older Aastra firmware requires an additional setting to subscribe to mwi during registration.
Aastra config settings are:
sip explicit mwi subscription: "1"
sip explicit mwi subscription period: "86400"

I'm closing this out as not a bug.
