I can't reproduce this. May be a silly question, but what is shown by ls /var/lib/asterisk/sounds/de? If any of the sounds are missing, the english file is played.

Can you tell me which part(s) is/are played in English? What is the directory contents of /var/spool/asterisk/voicemail/vm1234/5678? Also, go ahead and attach your voicemail.conf and asterisk.conf as I do not have a lot to go on here.

I'm trying to reproduce against 1.6.2.8, is that still the version in use? I attached a one line patch to output the file in use during playback. Please run that and attach the output here. However, this is going to be a very slow process I'm afraid. Is there any way I could get remote access?

After remote debugging and being unable to reproduce this issue, I'm closing as discussed with the reporter. If the issue is able to be reproduced, reopen and make sure to include the console output with information obtained from the more-debug.patch.
