Description:the only way to get the bugs located and fixed is if we enable it
the feature has been in the system sins 1.4 and is still using the old format as default

<leifmadsen> russellb: should I just change that in trunk and 1.8?
<russellb> I don't know if I agree
<russellb> I'd have to review things
<russellb> like, does it fall back to the old stuff if the language is not found in the conf file

Some additional work is here to determine what the effects would be to enabling that by default.

I dont mind adding some more of the configs
but we need to have a plan for when we will change
as people tend to only make changes in one of the files

We'll need more feedback from your community, please create a post on the -dev mailing list.

I started a thread on the asterisk-dev list for this issue:

I'm closing this for now as there appears to be little interest in this functionality changing.

If someone can satisfy the issues Russell mentioned on IRC (posted in a note) then we can certainly review this again.
