Description:We have a very large company directory list and we may have up to say 50 "Smith" last names.  In Asterisk Business Edition rev C, the caller does not have the option to break out of the listening to all 50 names before going back to the main directory menu.

We find this to be a bug.  Is there a key sequence we are not aware of that allows the caller to break out of either the listing of all 50 names or out of the directory application completely?

Does newer version of Asterisk provide a fix or work-around for this?

Issues related to Asterisk commercial releases (i.e. Asterisk Business Edition) should be filed with Digium directly and not on the open source Asterisk issue tracker. Thanks!

Understood but Digium refused to even log any bug reporting unless we have a support contract in place.  Digium specifically told us to go to the open source community to create a bug tracker after consulting with a manager at Digium.

I was under the impressions all bug reporting is available through Digium until the product is no longer a Digium supported product and I believe my current Revision at this point in time is a supported product.  I can open a new bug tracker with open source version because I believe the application is the same but I wanted to be accurate in what I am running.

OK, I was unaware that C.1.x was no longer supported by Digium.

I'll Acknowledge this issue then. If someone can reproduce this on the latest version of Asterisk (ideally the reporter, along with a sample set of configurations to make it easy to reproduce) then that'd be good.

While this is inconvenient, this is a borderline feature request, although I can see how not having something like this can make Directory() somewhat useless.

Issue dropped to Minor due to the number of possibly affected people.

This is currently a feature request without a patch, and as such, is not tracked here.  If you want Digium to create a patch to do this, as stated, you'll need a specific contract for ABE to have that done.

There are no specific changes to do exactly what your feature request is; however, starting in 1.6.0, the Directory may be presented as a list to the caller, by using the option 'm' passed in the dialplan.  This creates a menu of up to 8 names.

Creating a separate option to escape out early is not an easy patch, especially given that we would need to change voice prompts.
