Description:After a lot of test with Asterisk 1.4.24, i've switched to Asterisk 1.6.1.0 trying to solve this annoying problem.

Currently we have a production Asterisk 1.2, that use CAPI and IAX for a callcenter. The iSDN card is an Eicon, and we haven't any problem on audio or latency.

With installation of a new revision of Asterisk (1.4.24/1.6.1.0), iSDN card OpenVOX B400e and chan_misdn, when a call is answered the IAX client ear sound goods but the other peer ear a choppy and distorted audio for about 15secs, after this time the audios goes fine. The command "iax2 show netstats" show an RTT of 1000 that goes down after the 15secs.

I've found the issue id 0010807 that reports the same problem with missmatched packet size from mISDN to chan_iax. I've applied the patch to asterisk 1.4.24 and the call goes fine in out, but when a call goes in the windows client crash. So that patch cannot be use for a production environment.

This issue occurs also with Asterisk 1.6.1, mISDN v2 and chan_lcr.

We can not support your usage of 1.6.1, as you are using an unsupported channel driver.

However, we can try to help you out with 1.4.  First, please try the latest code in the 1.4 branch.  If you still have a problem, then please provide a packet capture of the call in question.
