****** ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ******

Fresh install of centos and asterisk

I have tried both NOT installing mpg123 and installing versions 0.59r, 1.6.x, and 1.7.x from source with dummy audio output (I have only had any success before using dummy audio emulatory).

I have asterisk-addons 1.4.8 installed just in case anyone was wondering. I have also upgraded to asterisk 1.4.25

There have been some changes to 1.4 since 1.4.25 was released.  I have tested the latest in the 1.4 branch and this appears to work (with a similar call to mpg123).  Could you try the latest 1.4 SVN and see if this is still a problem?

   $ svn co http://svn.digium.com/svn/asterisk/branches/1.4

Closed due to lack of response, however, this is probably fixed in latest Asterisk.
