|Description:||We are encountering a bug with voicemail and WAV49 and we have this issue with two new installs of asterisk on two different servers. When a user tries to leave a message the recorded WAV49 is completely inaudible.|
Whereas the one in WAV is good. We reproduced this issue using the ‘Record’ command.
As you can guess this is creating a problem to us as emailing WAV files is resource greedy.
Did anyone face the same issue?
****** ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ******
below are the configurations
Server : HP DL320 G5
Kernel : rhel5 2.6.18-92.1.10.el5
asterisk : 188.8.131.52

We have updated to asterisk 1.6 and now issue is fixed

What is bizarre is that there is literally NO difference in the way those files are written between 1.4 and 1.6. The only way that the format could have come out different is if you were running a version prior to 1.4.19, which is NOT what you notated in the top of this issue.

We are running asterisk : 184.108.40.206 (see above) and we still have boxes running it.
What i didnt mention it that we were using the TC400B board with g729 and in 220.127.116.11 zaptel driver (1.4.12) and for 1.6 it is DAHDI (2.0. library problem?

we have tried the lastes subeversion of for dahdi and, when a user joins a queue the asterisk crashes without any log or warning. So we rolled back to previous version and still have the same problem as mentioned above..

From Asterisk 18.104.22.168 built by terry @ cesium on a x86_64 running Linux on 2008-12-16 20:54:28 UTC I recorded and played back a 30 second voicemail recorded in wav49 w/ no problems at all (I tried with the channel being in both g711 and g729).
