Description:Asterisk fails to start with the message "asterisk.c:2966 main: Asterisk has detected a problem with your Zaptel configuration and will shutdown for your protection."  If I stop Zaptel it starts and runs fine, except for the functions that require ztdummy.  Zttool shows the ztdummy running fine.

****** ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ******

I have the same problem when running Asterisk svn branch 1.4, and also on 1.4.20.1.  Zaptel versions tried were: 1.4.9.2, 1.4.10.1 and svn branch 1.4.  Regardless of the verbosity settings, the logs and console don't reveal any additional information other than three suggestions for workarounds.  There is no Zaptel hardware in this machine.

Can you please tell us which distribution you are running on, along with a copy of the configuration files you are using in order to reproduce this issue?

Please attach the /etc/zaptel.conf and /etc/asterisk/zapata.conf file to this issue first as there is possibly some configuration issue there. I am tempted to close this as a configuration issue, but I'd like to verify it first.

Thanks!
Leif.

This appears to be hardware related,  I set up the exact same system in a different PC and it works fine (Kernel = 2.6.18-8 in each case) Centos 5.0 (x86_64) Same build, same zapata.conf and zaptel.conf etc.  Unless you are interested in determining a cause, I'd say close the issue, and I'll use the machine that it runs ok on.

Issue closed as reporter has determined this to be a hardware issue. Thanks for the update and testing. Much appreciated!
