Description:When a call is inbound from a SIP trunk, the ousside caller hears silence while the SLATrunk(xxx) is executing and the SLAStations are ringing.  All other inbound SIP calls return a ringback to the caller.

****** ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ******

I tried adding an answer prior to SLATrunk(xx) but it made no difference.

Can you please provide a SIP debug trace of the call where you aren't hearing ringing when you should?

Remove the call to Answer() before running SLATrunk and it should work just fine.  The SLATrunk application will answer the channel when a phone answers the call.  That is why you don't hear rininging.

As indicated in my original notes the answer was added recently in a effort to resolve the issue.  It has now been removed.  The issue remains as it did before the answer was added.  See new debug trace.

The SIP debug output looks normal here.  The provider should be providing the ringback in this situation.  Try setting "progresinband=yes" in sip.conf for that trunk definition.

Closed due to lack of feedback.  If you still have a problem, feel free to reopen this bug.

Listed as closed due to lack of feedback.  There has been  nothing to add since prior communications.  Affected system has been upgraded to 1.4.6 and problem persists.  Calls to any destination other than SLATrunk() cause the MetaSwitch to return a ringback to the caller, but calls while ringing on a SLAStation return silence to the caller until either answered or sent to voicemail.  It can be reproduced 100% of the time.

I said the the SIP messages look correct and that your switch should be generating the ringing for you.  I then asked you to try the progressinband option, to which you did not reply.

Anyway ...

Can you please also attach some SIP debug from a call to a different destination?

Also, please enable debug logging in logger.conf.  Then, set "core set debug 3" in addition to the sip debug.  With all of this enabled, get another debug dump of a call to SLATrunk.

I think I know the issue here.  progressinband should in fact fix it for you.  Some changes to app_meetme will need to be made to make that option not necessary in this scenario ...

Setting the progressinband does in fact correct the problem.

I'm going to close this one out because in this case, using the progressinband option is the right thing to do.
