Description: | this is not a request for stun server support for asterisk. this is a request for asterisk to act as a stun client, and pick up nat settings automagically. "why would anyone want that?" because with SFF/embedded * systems, you can easily tote your pbx from site to site. but when the nat settings change from site to site, you have to go in and fiddle with the asterisk conf files and change your nat settings. lots of people use * and have sip client accounts to various ITSPs. or connect to the * PBX at work (just a couple examples). with stun, you'd just plug your * box on the network and it configures itself completely automagically without any fiddling of anything. | ||
