Description: | Error counters, for bipolar violations, CRC4 errors, etc. are fully implemented in the tor2 driver. They are fully listed in the /proc/zaptel/xxx files, and in a show command in zaptel. zttool lists bipolar violations, but misses out the other counters. The E1/T1 drivers other that tor2 do not implement the counters at all. This is a serious omission, making diagnosis of quirky problems more difficult than it needs to be. | ||
Comments: | By: Atif Rasheed (atif) 2005-12-10 12:52:01.000-0600 error counts like crc4, ebit and fas are implemented in tor2 but they are missing in new E1/T1 drivers like wct4xxp. By: Tilghman Lesher (tilghman) 2006-01-05 15:07:27.000-0600 I'm going to have to close this one out, as we only allow feature requests to stay open on the bugtracker for a limited period of time. We'd need a proposed patch to reopen. By: steveu (steveu) 2006-01-05 17:30:21.000-0600 This isn't a feature request. Its a bug report. The error counts are supported for some cards, and missing for others. Wuthout them, support is a big PITA. Considering this a feature request is like saying that fixing core dumps is a feature request. By: Tilghman Lesher (tilghman) 2006-01-05 17:42:28.000-0600 No, a more apt comparison would be comparing this request to a valgrind enhancement or extra debugging flags. There is no manifestation of an actual bug, here, only the issue that you would like additional debugging information when working on a hardware issue. By: Tilghman Lesher (tilghman) 2006-01-05 17:45:57.000-0600 Please take this up with Digium directly. This is a support issue to be resolved with them, under your support contract. |
