Description: | When asterisk is executed by any user other than root, regardless of the real priviliges that user has, it will exit immidietly. Even if you run it by a non-privilged user that has write access to all the relevant device files, and you don't need real-time priority. Rumor has it that there is a p**** floating around to fix this and the same rumor evem claims the reporter of this bug uses such a patch, but I will not degregate my bug report by including it. ****** ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ****** Tsted in Stable. Code has not changed in HEAD. | ||
Comments: | By: Olle Johansson (oej) 2005-07-20 01:17:03 Which o/s and distribution? By: Olle Johansson (oej) 2005-07-20 01:23:03 Tried testing thison FreeBSD. We are binding sockets after we change uid/gid. I think the normal behaviour is to open sockets before a daemon goes background and changes UID/GUID. By: Tzafrir Cohen (tzafrir) 2005-07-20 02:07:50 Well, it seems I have misread a certain patch. This bug report can be ignored.
