Description:attached is a preliminary patch enabling UWB (Ultra wide band 32kHz)
part of the Speex codec. warning! it is not complete and the sampling
rate is currently hardcoded to 32 kHz. the patch works fine with
the app_mp3.c backend streaming mp3/http to speex/32000.

Have you tested this with meetme? will meetme require a patch to operate @ 32khz (rather then 8)?

This is going to take some extra work to get happy, that's for sure :)

alfredh, are you alive? can we get some more information here?

I have not tested with meetme, only app_mp3.c

it might work, as long as all participants are using Speex/32000 Hz

my first goal is to get the Asterisk mp3 player working with Speex
hardcoded to 32 kHz, including stereo (conf+SDP), and then hopefully
add some better logic for handling any sampling rates..

How is this patch coming?  What sip/iax client supports speex @ 32khz

By: Alfred E. Heggestad (alfredh) 2005-07-17 17:23:23

new patch uploaded, re-diffed against CVS HEAD and made much
simpler (smaller). still hardcoded to 32kHz though.

there are AFAIK no SIP/IAX clients supporting Speex 32 kHz,
this is what I am doing at the moment..

This is very interesting work, but it can not be even cosidered for inclusion without a disclaimer with digium, and without the hardcoded 32k changes.  I am going to suspend this bug for now, please re-open when you are ready to disclaim, and have resolved the hardcoding issue.
