Description: | In the quest to get Asterisk to run as a non-root user, I noticed that changing the directory for the asterisk.ctl socket and asterisk.pid requires both a change to the Makefile and to /etc/asterisk/asterisk.conf and finally a recompile of asterisk. This is not critical but was confusing the first time I did it. | ||
Comments: | By: Kevin P. Fleming (kpfleming) 2005-04-26 22:34:49 Why was any change needed to the Makefile? The only thing needed should be to set 'astrundir' in /etc/asterisk/asterisk.conf to the desired value. By: Kevin P. Fleming (kpfleming) 2005-04-29 10:59:34 No updates from bug poster... if you can document what Makefile changes were required (that 'astrundir' could not handle), please reopen the bug. |
