Description:I've updated to CVS and recompiled, but the problem is still here (see bug 3401). I've checked channel.c at line 2440, and the mark's patch is there. I've also restarted the asterisk PC. Please, this time wait me to test before closing. I also would be gratefull if you provide me detailed information on how to set/use the new atxfer, so I can keep testing this feature. At the moment I've stopped because can't return to the caller if I want before the transferred replies, or if he don't want to talk with the caller.

We'll continue to look at it.  When we believe we've got a bug fixed often we just go ahead and resolve it, but as the bug placer you have a button labeled "reopen" at the bottom of the bug which permits you to reopen it for further comment.

Sorry, did not noticed it :( In the past I've made some mistake in the "Summary" or in the "Category", but was not able to modify any of them (I had to ask some bug marshal in #asterisk to do it), so I thought I had no chances to do anything but adding notes on a open bug.
Forgive my insistence in asking about more info about how to use the new atxfer, what to setup and if special Dial() flag are required in the dialplan. I was asking in the channel for more details since the patch was put on CVS, but without luck. 3 days ago anthm gave me some information, but unfortunatly I had not the possibility to test them immediatly, and when I did I was not able to have the desider behaviour (anthm was not more available), so I don't know if I'm finding other bugs, or I'm doing something wrong. An "atxfer for dummyes" note would greately help ;)

The bug tracker is *not* a place for technical support or training, you will need to find assistance on #asterisk with how to use it.

What mark said.

twisted ? "What mark said" is: "We'll continue to look at it". Why are you closing this OPEN and STILL EXISTING issue?
Maybe you mis-read the problem and the answer. For the "other" question, I just tell that:
a) I was not asking for "technical support or training", but for documentation of a feature to be sure to do all the necessary steps and then be able to report real issues (if any) and not false problems due to lack of documentation. I'm not a * developer, so "read the source" suggestion would be not useful to me.
b) the documentation I was requesting, and that now is not more necessary thank to the help I've found after... mmm... 10 days of vain questions on #asterisk, just because was probably fixed by something in recent CVS (I finally got a reply in ML, that confirmed that I was doing the right things).
Now I could start testing this feature again and report improvements/fixes issues (like this one), just hope you will help someone that wants to help you.
Thanks a lot, since I sincerely apreciate asterisk and the work the developers/bug marshalls are doing.

Any new results from your tests?

In your original example, where did you set the language code? Was it something else than "en"?

By: mmenaz (mmenaz) 2005-02-13 14:22:01.000-0600

oej: as you see in the summary, this is a re-open of 3401, since I did not noticed that you can reopen a issue (may foult, as I wrote here).
Please go there (bug 3401) to find the answer of all your question. I've abandoned atxfer after having *wasted* a lot of time in the vain search of documentation of it's usage (see also my messages here) to know if I was wrong on some settings, or is it that lacks functionality. I got some info, many days later, from some really irritanting answers in IRC. It lacks fundamental functionality. So I don't use atxfer any more, it's not good for real world use, nor I'm interested in try to make it better, after have seen developer's attitude about suggestions and/or requests :)

Reporter is not interested in pursuing this.

Note for doc team: We *really* need better docs for atxfer!
