Description:When receiving an incoming call from a Nortel BCM acting as a H323 gateway audio portion of call is dropped. When calling the BCM from a Sip phone such as a Snom 190 or Xlite to the call works well including audio. Please note that the call controls are still in place and this only affects the audio portion h.323 to SIP. SIP to h323 work very well.

Also note that this is an itermitten problem under normal conditions but if h.323 trace level 3 or higher is on the problem happens 100% of the time. Included is a sample of a good call, a bad call, and a trace file.

I believe this to be a timing error. A delay in the asterisks response or something to that effect. That would be the only reason I could see trace levels having the same effect on the call.

JerJer: any ideas here?

what other information would be of use to you? Nortel is less than forthcoming when providing information about the BCM. But I have figured out how to capture the BCM logs. If that would be of use I would be happy to make that available. I can add this to the puzzle. If I make the same call from a digital set(non IP set) thru the BCM to the asterisk the problem doesn't seem to happen. I will test this in a more controlled enviroment later in the week. This is a travel week for me so I will have troubles doing any controlled testing. The i2004 on the bcm is UNISTIM to the BCM then h323 out of the BCM to other endpoints. Could that be adding enough delay that the asterisk fails to open a channel? It doesn't seem to be a issue with other end points other than asterisk. I have a Georgia access point using a AudioCodes MP108 w/H323 with no issues with either the BCM or Asterisk CVS or Stable

I2004/2002 >UNISTIM > BCM >H323 > Asterisk > SIP = Audio channel failure

SIP > Asterisk >H323 >BCM > UNISTIM > I2004/2002 = Works well

Further Note that Nortels Succession uses UNISTIM as well. Does any one have a Succession connected to a asterisk?

Still no response from anyone. The problem still exists I just haven't had time to monkey with it.

tdriscoll: You need to find JerJer on the #irc channel and see if he is interested in fixing this.

tdriscoll, could you attach H.323 debug trace for successfull call (outgoing) too as done for failed call?

please re-test with today's cvs -head.

believed to be fixed in cvs -head.  Open new bug, with details, if not.
