Description: | I suppose that it should be more useful to use the hint feature in extensions.conf as an application instead of a parameter in dialplan. so it can be used in an AGI program. ****** ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ****** this app. can be something like: Hint(exten, chann, status) or Hint(exten, chann). | ||

By: paradise (paradise) 2004-11-02 04:49:55.000-0600 my problem is: 1- when you have a generic dialplan which is managed through an AGI program, you lose the hint feature of *. (isn't it right?) 2- some sip devices wrongly show their channel state to *. like my ata(audiocodes) which shows always it's state as "Down" but everything works fine. i want to generate my own state for that device. btw, lack of a clear way to have an accurate call presence in * to work with known devices like snom, cisco, polycom is the main problem. By: Olle Johansson (oej) 2004-11-02 05:58:33.000-0600 You want to add an hint with an application call instead of adding an extension? By: paradise (paradise) 2004-11-02 07:26:04.000-0600 - when i have just one AGI program to dial an extension instead of an entry foreach extension in extensions.conf, is there a better way to add a hint for an extension? what i think is the ability to add it by calling an application.
