 7940 -- SIP/g711ulaw -- asterisk1 -- IAX2/GSM -- asterisk2

asterisk2 attempts to play sound via Playback() or SayDigits() which on disk is in GSM format.  The playback command is logged on the console, but no audio is heard on the call.  The Playback command never seems to exit on asterisk2, but hanging up on the call on asterisk1 does seem to clear it up.  Switching the IAX2 call codec to ILBC resolves this problem and the sounds are played as expected.

I think this broke sometime in the last few months, but I don't have an exact version number when it worked last.

Sounds like a config error.  Please post system deatils and version information.... and dialplan please.

Accually I can tell you for 100% FACT this isn't broken.. My 7960 and I do this DAILY with the latest CVS.

I should also note that asterisk2 quite happily forwards and transcodes calls (into ILBC) from asterisk1 via IAX2/GSM, it just won't play any GSM sounds.

I know this CVS version is a few days old now, but I can't update it for another few hours when people stop using it.

Others are unable to reproduce this problem.  I connected to a couple of other servers supplied by folks on IRC, and I was able to hear their GSM sounds over an IAX2/GSM stream.

This problem persists on my server however.  I'll get a debug log going in a few hours and see if that reveals anything else about where its getting stuck.

After updating to the latest CVS and restarting, the problem is no longer reproducible for me.  If it crops up again, I'll get more detailed debugging data before I file a bug.

Consider this one closed for now.
