Description:If I try to dial *21*1234#, asterisk gets "*21*1234%23". This is the stuff sent by SIP, so IMHO asterisk should convert it back to #

Well what we care about is what does the RFC say, Not what you think it should do.  Can you check the RFC to see what is proper?

Is it possible to add just this check without the whole of padenticsipchecking? I thought that was really slow....

Its no slower.. it just does extra stuff and is more strict.
