Description:Asterisk counts the number of calls taken by each member in a queue, but if a member's phone is ringing and another member takes the call using *8 the call counts as taken by the agent whose phone was ringing instead of the one who really answered.

Ouch.  This is true, but will be nearly impossible to fix, believe it or not.

Just for curiosity, why do you think it is impossible to fix this bug?

By: Mark Spencer (markster) 2004-09-02 15:29:18

The logic of *8 for pickup comes from a completely different direction, and essentially allows the channel dialing *8 to take over the channel on which the outbound dial is taking place.

Housekeeping - This being kept open for any particular reason, or is it a closable item, given the above bugnotes?

I think we can close it.. we are aware of this and its going to be one of those that require a MAJOR change that might happen post 1.0 but not sure even then we can fix it.  Because as mark said its two totally diffrent parts of the code that touch the channels.

I'm not sure it makes sense to close it since it still *is* a bug.  Perhaps we can have a section in the BUGS file for "known bugs" or something which don't have any immediately forseeable fix.

Maybe we can put up a page of known issues and list them.

if tha list is already released, please let me know. Otherwise, let us know when tha would be started.
