| Description: | This only happens on certain voicemail systems that I have encountered. When I call a person and it goes to such a voicemail system, at the point where the beep is sounded, Asterisk suddenly will cut off the call and bridge me to the fax extension. Albeit, the beep is a high pitched chatter, but it shouldn't cause the zaptel card to attempt a fax bridge... ****** ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ****** Call the number below and try to leave a voicemail. If you have a fax extension, as soon as the beep sounds, the call is dropped and a fax bridge will follow. Try it... 1-877-68-7467 on any extension (this is a Canada toll free number) or direct dial 1-905-886-8973 Ext. 318 (this fellow never answers his phone... ..well.. at least when I try...) | ||

By: lhishon (lhishon) 2004-06-08 08:31:52 Thank you, that will fix it no doubt.. but we have our fax connected to Asterisk and I guess if we choose to not turn it on then we'll have to run the fax by itself, off Asterisk... I guess we can't have our cake and eat it too. Is it possible to set it so that when you are off hook and in conversation, to ignor tones..? ..or only look for tones for a short period, say during and after ringing, and if nothing detected then turn off..?
