Description:I have several boxes running (pretty much only) asterisk. After several days we sometimes get more echo, dropouts... This begins to occur when the free memory has been used up and it is starting to hit swap. We are running RH kernel 2.4.20-28.9 on a P4 with plenty of ram. Of course, this may not be an asterisk problem at all - but as asterisk is about the only thing I have running on these boxes one might assume that the memory is gradually getting filled with files it may have accessed. Please let me know if there is a command to free the cached files on a linux box that I can run periodically some other tweak to take care of this.

Thanks,   John
