Have you sent in a disclaimer?

I am away from the fax machine at the moment...will update when I have faxed...should be tomorrow.

According to ITU Recommendation E.180 Supplement 2, the following changes would be needed:

busy = 400/500,0/500
congestion = 400/250,0/250

Callwaiting has 3 options and dialrecall, record and info are not defined but the following values would make the indications.conf match what is currently in zaptel/zonedata.c

callwaiting = 400/250,0/250,400/250,0/3250
dialrecall = !400/100!0/100,!400/100,!0/100,!400/100,!0/100,400
record = 1400/425,0/15000
info = 400/750,0/100,400/750,0/100,400/750,0/100,400/750,0/400

Richard

Thos busy values I had worked for me...Have you tried it with those changes?

By: richard (richard) 2004-04-23 23:11:03

Been working OK for the last 9 months or so.

By: Matt Riddell (zx81) 2004-04-24 00:07:30

The busy tone I get from telecom is 400Hz on for 250ms and then off for 250ms repeated.  I have attached a recording of the busy tone if someone else could check this.

By: Matt Riddell (zx81) 2004-04-24 00:20:20

I have added a new diff with the busy tone set to 250ms.  (See attached wave file).

I have also removed the "making this up" comments and added your above values...

on dialrecall your last figure is 400 on it's own...it this supposed to be 400hz for 100ms or silence for 400ms?

The patch leaves that last , and 400 off as this would mean that it can repeat.

Can you read through diff4.txt and check it?

By: Matt Riddell (zx81) 2004-04-24 00:22:28

If someone has a recording of any of these other sounds, I can check them for hz and ms cadences.

Interesting about the busy tone you measured. I have just checked document TNA102 at the Telecom TelePermit site http://www.telepermit.co.nz/PtcSpecs.html and they show busy tone as "400 Hz interrupted, 500 ms on, 500 ms off, repeated" on page 7-1.

The ITU document I mentioned earlier shows Congestion Tone II as being the same as your measured busy. I am unsure what the difference between busy and congestion actually is.

Call waiting in TNA102 is:

!400/200,!0/3000,!400/200,!0/3000,!400/200,!0/3000,!400/200

so that will probably need changing.

The 400 on it's own at the end of dial recall means continuous 400Hz tone after the preceding sequence has played, as it does not have a "!" in front of it.

I think the problem may be that after a call, congestion II is played not busy...in order to get busydetect working correctly I had recorded and analysed the file from the end of my voicemail.

What should we do?  If we set it to busy, then the incoming calls to X100P will not detect hangup properly.

I have changed call waiting and dial recall.

Comments on busy would be appreciated.

I have attached another diff.

Are these up to date and accurate now?  What's the status?

By: richard (richard) 2004-04-30 00:13:08

I'm happy. It seems that Telecom reality does not match the published documentation.
