Description:The sample iax.conf says:

"Disabling the jitter buffer is not recommended."

And then immediately below:

"jitterbuffer=no"

Which is correct? I recommend commenting out the latter line by default.

On a normal network (like most of us are luck to have) it should be off.  If its on it will only hurt you in these situations.  I see your patch for 990 we will look at that.

I think the comments should be consistent with the defaults, and more informative. How about the attached patch?
