Description: | When rotating the asterisk log files (specifically "messages"), upon creation of the new "empty" file, asterisk will not re-open the file for writing (thereby losing valuable logging messages) until it is restarted. ****** ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ****** Providing a mechanism for logfile rotation would be excellent. | ||
Comments: | By: Brian West (bkw918) 2003-09-30 14:23:27 http://www.bkw.org/~brian/asterisk-misc/asterisk-logrotage.d this is what I use. But it would be nice if asterisk used syslog... dup ticket also. This has been covered once before on bugs.digium.com By: John Todd (jtodd) 2003-09-30 23:04:32 Closing this out, since this can be solved by restarting Asterisk. Additional comments as to why the current logging system sucks should be appended to http://bugs.digium.com/bug_view_page.php?bug_id=0000265 which discusses that topic at length. |
