Description:It would be nice to be able to configure asterisk to run a script every time a hangup occurs. Regardless of the origin of the hangup.

The purpose is to enable the possibility of recording call end time and thus duration to any third party app/db

This already exists with the "h" context, unless you're referring to something else.

For an example of how "h" can be used to do some tasks (like cleaning up call recording, as you state) take a look at http://www.loligo.com/asterisk/  and look at the configs in there.

Thanks for pointing this out jtodd. I'd asked around on the mailing list, irc and google but no-one seemed to know so I presumed the feature didnt exist.

Time to close this report.
